The COS Fire Technology Program offers numerous paths to help you prepare for a fire service career, including degree and certificate programs. We offer a 27-unit certificate with the completion of the California State Fire Training Accredited Firefighter 1 Academy and Emergency Medical Technician, or an Associate of Science Degree in Fire Technology. Our academy is an 18-unit course with over 400 hours over 19-weeks, offered in the Spring & Fall Semesters. Classes are Mon, Wed, and Thurs, evenings from 17:45 to 22:00 and all day on Saturday. In addition, we have added Firefighter 2 curriculum to our academy, allowing students the ability to complete the training requirements for firefighter 1 certification and firefighter 2 task books. COS also offers California State Fire Training Company Officer courses.
