College of the Sequoias recognizes that secure access to food and housing is essential to academic success in higher education and must, therefore, be treated as a top educational priority. As such, we advance a campus culture of caring that recognizes that students are humans first. We exemplify this commitment in our public statements and in our daily work by addressing the structural poverty that created
this basic need security crisis. We use data and evidence to drive our efforts to reduce food and housing insecurity and
seek to
impact as many of our students as possible. The Giant Marketplace
provides on-and-off campus
resources and support to students in need
of emergency housing referrals, food, physical and mental health, childcare, transportation,
technology, and other basic needs related services. The services are available at all three COS locations – Visalia, Tulare, and Hanford.
We ask students to complete
the registration form
to schedule a Giant Pantry visit, or to request an appointment for all
additional basic needs related support. Call/Text 559-730-3710 or email giantmarketplace@cos.edu.
