  • 'Lectric Law Library (This is not only a megasite for law and law related information it is also a gold mine of humorous quotes. You may find it hard to leave. The law related information is divided into useful categories like bankruptcy, environmental, criminal...)
  • lexisone (This site is sponsored by Lexis/Nexis and has a wealth of links to the states in America. Within each state it provides links to the legislative branch, judicial branch, Rules of Courts & Forms, Boards and Commissions, counties and much more.)
  • American Law Sources On-Line (The stated purpose of this site is to provide a comprehensive, uniform, and useful compilation of links to all online sources of American Law that are available without charge.)
  • Nolo's Legal Encyclopedia
  • ABA Law Information - Although this is a web site that is selling services it also has some good general information for those seeking some basic law information on family, business, jobs, courts, and such.

United States Federal Laws

  • US Constitution (This site, designed by Findlaw, is divided into the Preamble, articles, and amendments with links to Supreme Court cases cited in the annotations.
  • US Constitution (This site for the US Constitution also contains analysis and interpretation and was prepared by the Congressional Research Service, Library of Congress.)
  • United States Code (The United States Code contains the text of the current public laws enacted by Congress.)
  • Code of Federal Regulations The CFR are regulations issued by the executive branch agencies. Regulations that are just in the proposal state or are so recent that they are not yet in the Code of Federal Regulations can be found in the Federal Register.)

This site gives detailed information on the California Supreme Court, Courts of Appeal, and Trial Courts as well as other Judicial Branch Agencies.   • Municipal Codes Online (This site includes municipal codes for several California cities as well as other cities throughout the United States.)
