EOPS Program

​​​​​The Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) at the College of the Sequoias is dedicated to recruit and successfully retain college students of educationally and socioeconomically challenged backgrounds from Kings and Tulare Counties. The primary purpose of the EOPS Program is to prepare students to transfer to a four-year university, complete an Associates Degree or Vocational Certificate in order to acquire desirable career-related skills to attain rewarding employment as a result of their educational experience.

CARE Program

​​​Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education Program (CARE) at COS serves EOPS students who are transitioning from receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) to becoming more economically self-sufficient. Eligible CARE students will receive additional benefits including a CARE​ Grant and school supplies. Applicants must be eligible for the EOPS Program.

NextUp Program

The NextUp program, also known as CAFYES (Cooperating Agencies Foster Youth Educational Support) at COS is a designed to serve current and former foster youth in the State of California through the EOPS program. NextUp ​​services include all EOPS benefits in addition​ to food services, emergency housing, book assistance, transportation assistance, and other services based on financial need. Applicants must be eligible for the EOPS Program.
